Hello Everyone,

This is a guide to creating redirects that shorten your referral links and to
keep thieves from stealing your affiliate commissions.  They wind up
being tiny webpages that simply act to call up the webpage that you want
people to visit.  All you have to do is have your referral link reside in a
folder at your webserver.  The links can be used in advertising forums
and at many other advertising venues... like Marketers Central.

So, instead of having a long and ugly referral link like the one here:

http://www.mycontactstation.com/p...taf=1&e=leon.horton@gmail.com

Your new link will look something like this if you store the new little
webpage in the folder named "Likes" at your webserver.  (You could use
any name you choose like "presents" or "recommends" or whatever.)

Code:
http://www.yourdomain.com/Likes/the_name_of_the_file.htm

Here's one that works for the mycontactstation site above...

http://www.leonsweb.info/Likes/MCS.html

Notice that the referral link is not there.  Thieves cannot take my referral
nor the commission from the sale unless they go to the trouble to hack
into my web space and get it that way.  That may prove to be too  much
trouble, but I don't suppose every thief can be stopped all of the time.
However, this should reduce a lot of the loss in your efforts to earn
money online.

So, the following code should be used for your new redirect page.

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Redirecting..</title>
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;url=FULL REFERRAL LINK INCLUDING THE HTTP:// GOES HERE" />
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Now save your new redirect webpage as a .HTM or .HTML file in an
organized place on your hard drive and then upload it to your server.  Of
course you will need to test the link by typing in the new link in your
browser address bar after uploading it.

Using the same guidance as above, you can also use a very short version
of the HTML code by using PHP if you prefer.  I have an affiliate link for
some very handy online videos to help people with some of the web
tactics they may wish to explore.

My link for that video site is...

http://InternetHomeBusinessVideos.com/index.php?rid=253

Here is the code for a PHP redirect...

<?php
header("Location: http://YourAffiliateLinkGoesHere");
exit;
?>

So, now you would save the file as .php (in all cases it is index.php)
and upload it to your server into the proper folder.  In my case, I used the
DansVideo folder to hold the index.php redirect file.  My working redirect
link to the free videos is...

http://www.leonsweb.info/Likes/DansVideos

(note: You can add the file "/index.php" if you want to, but as you can
see, it is not required unless you have more in the folder than just the
"index.php".)

It just takes a little extra file work at the server, but it is still a safe way to
redirect people to your referral links.

Now, to the meat of this whole post...

You can use the following for your redirection link code for Plan4Power if you
want to be able to see what is working for you:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />
<title>Plan4Power...</title>
<meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow">
<meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="0;url=http://plan4power.org./?YOUR REFERRAL ID GOES HERE" />
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

Save the file as Plan4Power.html and upload it to your server into your
preferred folder.  Then your link could look like...

http://leonsweb.info/Likes/Plan4Power.html

One other thing that all this will provide is an easy way to track clicks on
that particular link in your advertising campaigns.  Your web server should
provide statistics on all clicks and bandwidth usage so you can find out
vital information about raw clicks and where they are coming from.

If you go to the free video site by Dan Cauthron, there is a free adtracker
offered in one of the videos.  I think it is offered by Gary Muller and you
can download it free (for the price of your email address).  Then just set it up
according to the videos.  Bear in mind that some of the tutorials are dated
somewhat and the cPanel may not look just exactly the same as yours.

Be on the lookout in the near future for more helpful webmastering tips and tricks.

Peace to you all,
