OK...now I've just got a few things more to do before I send in my TBG survey.
This next one is probably the most important but not all that difficult.
It falls under the category of...an ounce of prevention.
Here goes:
I just switched from Norton Internet Security 2005 (and by the way, I've been very fortunate and have never had a horror story from attacks, viruses etc. with Norton) to MS OneCare Beta on Sunday. I must say, it's verrry smooth. Who better than MS to know what's a threat and what isn't.
Anyway, I've gone over to Google and checked some forums to see if there have been any problems with downloading Firefox onto OneCare.
There are always a few exceptions but for the most part everything seems to be cool. The people that were having problems were mostly caused because they didn't specify IE as their Default browser.
I won't have that problem because although I hear that Firefox is greaaat, I'm a creature of habit and will mostly use IE. I just upgraded to the new IE browser a few weeks ago. I'm happy with it.
I thought that I would post here, though, just in case there may be something that I should be aware of.
I'm running XP with lots of power (fortunate that way) so those kinds of issues aren't a concern.
So...unless I hear differently, I should be able to download Firefox from CNET tomorrow and then I'll begin my TBG homework.

Downloaded Firefox.
It's a snap...and although I haven't used it all that much...I gave it a test run.
It seems to work fine with MS OneCare Beta... no negative issues at all up to now.
Will keep you posted if anything negative happens. But I'm almost certain that everything is fine.

Hi Lorne,

Thanks for the info on MS OneCare Beta.

I think I will steer clear of IE for the most part. There are still alot of people who still dislike MS so I will just use Firefox untill I have to use IE to access something not able to view with Firefox.

JMHO

Peace,

It's me again and wanted to say sorry about not getting "MS OneCare

Beta" right so I am here to correct it.

Is it a Virus Protector?

Again sorry about that

Hi Norma,

MS OneCare is (if I'm not mistaken) an anti-virus software that was developed by MicroSoft (MS). MicroSoft is the company that created Internet Explorer, the world famous Internet browser that most everyone has on their PCs.

I'm glad you were able to get the Free AVG 7.5 downloaded. I'm sorry that you had such a time getting it. Be sure to set it up to get the updates automatically and to scan your PC automatcally as well.

I have never had a problem since I started using AVG and Firefox.

Peace,

Hi Norma... Thanks Leon.
But just to add to what Leon said... MS OneCare does everything; thus the name: OneCare. Antivrus/firewall/backups... heck... even tucks you in at night
Just another option in the computer/online protection arsenal but it's not free. I was a beta tester so I was eligible for the $24.95 yearly offer. I'm guessing that that's about half price.
Anyway, for me it's well worth it. I used Norton before and have never had a real problem with them either; no viruses, worms or security breaches etc.
OK... I've rambled enough.
