Hi Joe,
Doug is actually the skype expert around here, but I'll jump in and try and help.
If you go to www.skype.com and just click on the 'download skype free' button.
This should start downloading the program.
In my experience I have never had to committ to any payment
as all skype to skype calls are free. (It's great for me as I'm in
Australia and frequently talk to fellow Plan4Power members around
the world).
If anyone else knows better, than please jump in and help us out.
Thanks

You are correct Shelley.
I don't recommend that anybody pay anything even at Plan4Power.
Remember what we advertise?
Okay, then click the free download to get setup with the free Skype.
Peace, |

I just need to pick up a mic, then I'm good to go. Everything else seems to be ok. Thanks again |

The Skype download program is free. The calls you make on skype is also free so long as you call another skype user.
The $29.99 charge is for the extra services that they want you to use. Such serves are the ability to call phone lines (land lines) or cell phones.
They also have what they call skypein which gives you a number that regular and cell phone lines can call and connect to you thourgh your computer. The cost of these charges is low compared to other services that offer the same thing.
But as long as you call someone that uses skype the program and the call is free.
I'm kinda new to skype, only been using it for a couple of month, and I do make call to people who don't use it but I don't make alot of call and I have spent a total of $5.00 on outgoing call in 6+ months.
Hope this helped.
Doug
