Every website builder hopes that their newly built website will have immediate success
and hopefully maintain that status for years to come. That is the ultimate dream.
Using good key words MAY be one way of achieving this dream.
Key words are simply words and small phrases that you can “attach” to your web site,
that will be used when someone types in those same words when doing a search through
a search engine. The search engines try to match these words when they are responding
to a search request.
Your replicated plan4power.org site already has this done for you. If you are building
an additional site that leads to your .org site or as a capture page, which has your own
domain name, you will establish your own key words if you’d like. Please remember
to get all promotional sites, capture pages and advertising approved by Plan4Power
admin, as we want to present a consistent message.
The object is to make your websites appear high on search engine lists and that is where
effective keywords come into play. High on the LISTS means within the first 2 or 3 pages
of a list. This is simply because not very many people will look through very many pages.
They’ll either get side tracked, find what they’re looking for within the first couple of pages,
or quit searching because of boredom or time restraints.
Q: So what’s a search engine?
A: Do you ever do a search for something you’re looking for on the Internet?
Where do you go to search? Do you use Google or Yahoo or Dog Pile?
These are all popular search engines. There are thousands more on the Internet.
In fact, just like almost everything else, search engines are and have become more
and more, very big business on the web. Please keep this in mind when you are
led to believe that search engine “placement” is THE most important way to get
traffic. It is ONE way. It is the way that you will get traffic from anyone who is
doing a SEARCH, looking for what YOUR web site is offering.
Indeed, here is where good key words will benefit you especially in a category that
is really competitive. For instance, I’ve done a search on Google today looking for
”internet marketing.” You know how that works, I went to google.com and typed
in the blank –internet marketing. ONLY 634 million sites were available for me
to look through. I felt like I needed to get started right away.
Then I typed in—home based business. Wow…I’ve really got my work cut out for me.
There were only 1 billion, 310 million sites for me to look through. But seriously, how
in the world (literally) are we to get our page even close to the first or ten thousandth
and first page in this competitive field we’re in?
Once again, the answer is to be “swift” with use of our keywords we choose. But I’m
learning that there are some rules that apply. As I gather more information that I can
digest, I’ll be bringing more to you. I’m going out to learn more, be back tomorrow with you.
