Hi everybody,

I recently was hit with a bad adware virus even though I was set up with AVG, SpyBot and Adaware. I am having to reformat my hard drive in that computer or else put in a new drive and put my existing drive in an external case and connect with USB.

I would like some solid advice on setting up a GOOD firewall. This computer is an IBM ThinkPad laptop. Right now I am using an older Toshiba laptop.

Anyone out there with some experience in this area?

There may be some correlation between the bug you got and the browser you use too.

If you use Internet Explorer, you will be more suseptible to getting attacked than if you used Netscape or Firefox. There are a lot of people out there who don't like Microsoft and they will do anything to get IE users to quit using IE. You mnake the call on that one. I prefer to use Firefox and restrict my use of IE to when an application won't work in Firefox (which is very seldom now).
