How Effective are Your Ad HeadlinesHi Everyone!
I found a site where you can evaluate the headlines you use. It gives you an idea what you need to do in order to get your emails opened.
I tested a few Headlines and found that:
"It's So Simple. Buy the Book." had a 0.00% EMV rating
"Do You Have a Plan for Power?" had a 28.57% EMV rating
"Do You Have a Power Plan?" had a 33.33% EMV rating.
"Do You Have A Plan?" had a 40% EMV rating.
"Will You Make Money?" had a 50% EMV rating.
"You Will Make Money!" had a 50% EMV rating.
This is a simple tool to use and I highly recommend that you use it from time to time to develope a headline that is catchy and invokes an emotional response. EMV is an acronym for Emotional Marketing Value. It is a rating that is based on the ratio of the emotional trigger words you use compared to the total number of words in the headline.
This does not mean that an ad headline has to have emotional words in it to do what you want it to do. Most people simply want the reader to open the darn email first of all... or to continue reading the webpage or whatever the reason the headline is expected to do. It just gives the reader words that trigger an emotional reaction to the words. Whether that reaction is valid for your ad remains to be seen through testing and tracking your ads.
Give it a try!
And for comparison, most professional copywriters' headlines will have 30%-40% EMV Words in their headlines, while the most gifted copywriters will have 50%-75% EMV words in headlines. The very best ones will have 100% but those are very rare.
You should bookmark the page for later use too.

Hi again Veronica,
I did some experimenting with the "The Shockingly Simple..." and found that taking out a couple of words made a creditable difference in the EMV rating.
"Shockingly Simple Plan for Your Journey to Success" = 50.00%
You see, it is based on the ratio of the number of emotional words compared to the total words used.
I like both versions, but I wonder which would be more effective. Testing will tell the tale I suppose.
Peace,

Shockingly Simple Plan-I did a little "tweaking" also and came up with the following:
Shockingly Simple Blueprint for Your Monetary Success = 71.43 %
|
walkingeagle37
|
Another Little "tweak" to: Don't Get Mad You Can Still Achieve Success" = 25% EMV
Be Happy, You Can Still Achieve Monetary Success! = 75%
Veronica, I hope you don't mind. I just noticed you have some very good ideas. I just like playing with them to see if they can be improved upon.
One thing I've found is, don't use words with negative connotations, they just drag your score down, i.e. MAD, CRY, LOST etc. People just don't want to face them.
I also added "Monetary", which is what we're all about.
Of course, not being a English Professor, I have no idea (yet) how this would all work out in real life, but I will do a lot of experimenting.

Hi Walking Eagle,
You have tweaked a few with some success. I know that some of the things we say in our headlines need to grab peoples' attention so that they click the ad to find out what is pulling on their emotions.
It takes all kinds of ad headlines to make a successful campaign. Something that reaches one person may not appeal to another. That is why it is also important to test your headline to see which one gets the best result.
Like in my preveious post... Stop Paying Monthly Fees rated at 75%. I have not seen any great results with that however.
Look at the following ad headline:
Unique Team Concept
Do you think we can improve that one? I wonder what emotions that one stirs that will make people click the ad. Notwithstanding the high EMV, it is of absolutely no use if nobody tests it to see if it will produce results.
I guess I will have to spend more time in that arena and see if I can determine a way to easily test some of these to find out what grabs the prospects the most. I am not into statistical analysis so I will have to be forced into that kind of activity.
Peace,

Ho, Leon,
You know? My son calls computers "Devil Machines", and once in a while I'm inclined to agree with him. I just spent a 1/2 hour replying to you and just as I submitted, my DSL quit on me and I lost it all.
The "gist" of what I was saying is, You are absolutely right. The head line:
"Unique Team Concept" doesn't "bait my hook" at all.
And the lesson I've learned is: Use the headline evaluator merely as a guide, not a "new internet marketing God". Because, as you say, What appeals to you doesn't necessarally appeal to me.
I sent out 4 ads last night. Two of the high scorers previously posted and the 2 I "tweaked". It's to early to tell yet, perhaps when I get home from work.
Which I have to leave for now.
A quote: "Pity not the man who fails, rather, pity the one who never even tries". Love you all.

Hi Leon and Walking Eagle,
I will send out some ads tonight, so I'll use
Be Happy, You Can Still Achieve Monetary Success!
and I'll track them. I'll let you know the repsonse (in terms of clicks) I get.
Cheers

Hi All,
Well, I haven't topped Leons yet, but I have come up with one that might peak curiosity enough to have an email opened up.
Uniquely Yours = 100%
Now, if I can just come up with some decent sales copy to follow up with.
I'm going to be trying this one for a couple of days and see what happens.
Anyone else is welcome to it also.

O.K., I got a bit of a laugh out of this one: Free, Unique, Retire.
It drew 166.67% , and it doesn't even make sense. Maybe it's the curiosity factor.
I guess if I saw it in a subject line, I'd probably wonder, "what the heck are they talking about".
I think I'll give it a try, who knows?

here's another oneHere is a couple I have had some success with.
Unique Plan To Retire On = 120%
and
Unique Simple Plan for Huge Results = 66.6%
A lot make it to my auto responder, but not to p4p.
At Least I know they work!
Haven't actually gotten any sign-ups with them,
but that is probably related to my follow-up
system.
Hey Leon I think you got me hooked with the
term UNIQUE... lol
|
Leon
|
Hi Steven,
I think "Unique" has power behind it. Many people will ask, "What puts this in a class all by itself?" and will click to see what we are talking about.
Everybody:
The hard part, like Walking Eagle said, is the ad copy.
What is it that we are trying to accomplish? Get people to talk to Bruce and Debra, right?
Then what is the wording that will get people to click the link to the sales page? Then comes the part that will make them submit their email address so we can follow-up.
It takes a lot of work to come up with the right combination to do what we want done. On the other hand, following the Team Builders Group's team concept, we don't have to do that. Just do the advertising with the team and the prospects will come to us.
I like the idea of keeping everything simple. You can take the route to do everything alone or you can go with the team and get a huge amount of help from the team.
I envy Cathy's ability to send to all of the places she submits ads to. I do not take the time she takes to make things happen, so I understand that I won't see the success she sees.
I guess my user name should be Lazy Bones!
Nevertheless, we have to put the word out there to as many places as we can because it takes a lot of people seeing our stuff to get the first one to sign up.
We need to remember that prospects in our autoresponders are not sign-ups... they are just prospects!
Peace,

I've been working for a couple of months. Had
to help my son with his construction business.
Still getting those sign ups though, Thank goodness.
I do miss having the time though, just
wanted people to know I am working full time
and still very fortunate. Thank you God

For all of my new Family here at P4P.First of all, I would like to THANK Leon for introducing me to the Word Analyzer.
I've spent several days (of my free time) checking it out, and have discovered what might be some great possibilities.
It would require a lengthy email to explain all that I have discovered, but the basics are: The words are rated from 0.0% up to 200% (Individually).
So, if you combine a word rated at 200% with a word rated at 100%, you will have a final rating of 150%, (AVERAGE).
If any of you are interested and would like to find out more, email me. I will explain further and give you a list of the 200% and 100% words I've found so far.
A lot of them can be combined into credible, high scoring headlines.

Hi Guys and GalsHey there wonderful people of p4p,
Hi Leon, I sent walking Eagle an email earlier also.
Replied saying he was on his way to work and would
call me later. Can't hardly wait for the call.
If your interested maybe we can work out a
three-way or meet in a chat room. Let me know
what ya think.
Also thanks for the encouraging and wise words in
your earlier thread.
I got a SIGN-UP today from one of my own splash
pages today... SO they are working, I just have to keep
swinging... lol

Getting the follow-upHi Leon,
I am not sure how others have there splash pages set up, but
mine are set so when they sign the form on my page, they sign
up for more info from my responder, and then are sent to the
p4p sign-up page for conformation. I figured by doing it that way
I still capture there info, which I can then get to Bruce to follow
up with if they didn't confirm at p4p.
If that is the wrong way to do it I am open to suggestions.
Still Learning all this stuff...

Hi All,
Thought I'd share some words with anyone interested.
Requires = 200%, Retire = 200%, Honesty = 200% Honestly = 200%
Monetary = 200%, Unique = 200%
Wealthy = 100%, Solution = 100%, Free = 200%, Cheating = 100%,
Intrigue = 100%, Achieve = 100%, Future = 100%, Peace = 100%
Security = 100%, Small = 100%, Lovely = 100% Situation = 100%,
Concept = 100%, Happy = 100%, Solved = 100%, Visionary = 100%,
True = 100%
Some of these are easy to put together, such as, Monetary Security = 150%
or Honestly Speaking = 150%.
Just something to ring that subconscious chime. I'm sure that you can come up with as good or even better.
I will be posting more words as I ferret them out.

OOPS!I'm back. Sorry, I stuck small in by accident. It's one I was playing with for a ad-letter. It's only good for 50%.
But, while I was in the site, I found that TRULY = 200%.
Perhaps that will make up for my little goof.

Hi Everybody,
All of this is great stuff!
I know this is all intriguing and I appreciate all who are taking part in the discussion, but I am still obliged to continue my efforts in the TBG and not put so much emphasis on doing it all alone.
I certainly want everyone to do everything they can do for themselves, but I also want the Team not to try to re-invent the wheel so to speak.
This thread was started long before the Team BUilders Group was started so please keep that in mind. Also, those who are TBG members should not forget that we are to use the ad copy in the TBG as a team.
I thank everyone for the great input. I am still working on my splash page and the autoresponder as well. One day I will have what it takes to build a huge list like everyone else. I hate spending a lot of money and paying monthly fees for some of the things we have to have to be online. I'll keep digging though.
Peace,

Hi Steven,
I don't know of a right or wrong way to get prospects and sign-ups. It sounds as though you are on the right track though.
If I understand correctly... you have the success page (the page they are sent to after clicking the submit button) set to your Plan4Power referral page. They can read further what Plan4Power is and fill out the form on the second page for more info from Bruce and Debra. That is a cool way to do it in my opinion. They get captured by you and them if they go that far. Nevertheless, it is very important to get them in touch with Bruce.
KEWL BEANZ!
CONGRATULATIONS on your sign-up!!

Hi Walking Eagle,
Thank you so much for contributing your findings in the general forum....lots of food for thought!!
Leon,
Like you I'm also committed to the TBG and use most of my advertising time on participating for the benefit of the group......notwithstanding I do put out a small amount of my own advertising and it's that I play with to test differnet scenarios.
Cheers

InvestmentJust to let people know when I first began marketing about
8 months ago I joined Traveling Bills and used his
programs which are, #1 Plan4Power, #2 Build a Biz for
the website (you get that with Plan4Power down the road)
#3, Autoresponder, #4 and #5 are Leads from FFA sites.
While I built my team for Plan4Power through this the
cost was about $56 per month. After a few months when
for one reason or another the company's didn't pay me
my commissions I soon dropped them. I don't think
Bill has problems getting income from them, however
I did.
Since then, honestly, I'm having good results with
low cost using the same system. I do have an autoresponder
that cost me $10 per month where I can load 5000 leads a day.
I was loading 20,000 for $20 per month but testing another
autoresponder so cut back on cost there.
I pay for leads, mailer, autoresponder, safelist and a submitter
through another site that cost me another $10 per month.
I also use a submitter that is $5 per month and one which
I get a submitter and host Plan4Power safelist for $22 per
month.
So, yes, I spend a little on advertising. About $47 per
month.
Every once in a while I see something come along that I
purchase for advertising and reseller opportunities (yeah right, lol)
For me, my biggest asset is the autoresponder and safelist.
Of course I have automatic mailer, smass submitter, ad blasters,
blog blasters and more on my computer which I don't use
that often.
Building your team can be done free. I have lots that
are free. My number one tip if I could give one that works
for me is a good autoresponder and lots of leads with
of course lots of free stuff to give away so they might
open your ad and see "Plan4Power"
I apologize for this being so lengthy, let me add one
more thing.
I've had many contact me and want to do just what
I do. Usually I notice they do it for a couple of weeks
and I don't hear from them again.
The results do not happen overnight. If you stop,
the definitely won't happen. If you continue they will!
I spent many hours when I first started with absolutely
stupid new thoughts thinking if you send out a million
ad's you should get a sign up. Yeah Right, lol
Send out about a trillion and it will happen.
We have tons of competition out there with most
people being very skeptical and burnt and like Leon
says thinking just because it's the internet they will
get rich quick. "Doesn't happen"
Stay with Plan4Power, Work Plan4Power. One time
$25, alot - ALOT of Advertising and you will eventually
have a WONDERFUL FUTURE!
Love you guys...
Let's Roll!
