How To cloak your Plan4Power URL and beat the spam filtersBecause there are so many members advertising thier Plan4Power links, it is best if you do not place your Plan4Power link in your emails.
The problem arises that over time, many isp's will block an email if your Plan4Power link is enclosed. This means that your email may not get through to your prospect.
The best way to overcome this problem, is to buy your own domain name from maybe www.godaddy.com. You can choose whatever name you want.
Then, login and have the domain name forward to your Plan4Power link. Then, when you send emails out, place your new domain name in the email, and it will redirect people to your Plan4Power website.
This will benefit all our members over time and allow you to get your emails through to people.
There are some services online that allow you to redirect for free. However, their URL's are also blacklisted, so be safe and get a $8.95 domain name and be a professional.
I have http://www.payoncegetrich.com which looks much better I think. It will work 8 hours from now as I have have just purchased it.
Good luck.

It's working already, so you got a quick setup!
I read where some spam filters don't let urls through
so you could try some emails with an email to
respond to for details
Best of success,

Hi Gary,
Please forgive me for not saying WELCOME!! before now.
In keeping with the PLAN, we should not be asking people to pay anything additional. We could suggest alternatives for free websites and the like, but we shouldn't be asking people to pay anything more than they have already paid... the $25 e-book purchase.
You are going to be a great asset to the Plan4Power group and I thank you for your input in all areas.
Peace and prosperity to you and yours,

I wouldn't call it paying out for something else. I would call it an investment. Plan4Power is already balcklisted by some ips's so getting your own domain name is an investment for ALL members. The unfortunate thing with emailing is some people will spam whether they know they are doing it or not. Be safe, be professional and get your own domain name. $6.95 is all it costs or less.
Thanks
Gary

Thanks GaryThanks Gary for the input on that domain name.
Another tax write off, lol..Since most of us do market
other programs (Plan4Power is the best for future) Any
input from someone with your downline in other programs
and your expertise of marketing is a great asset to Plan4Power
and our forum.
I'm still very excited that you joined Plan4Power and

Makes me wonder if URL shrinkers get the kaibash, as well.
While wandering the net the other day, I came across a site that
lists all the sites that list banned domains for SPAM. Mine was on
one of them! Probably because I haven't been cloaking my links to my splash pages and one of my autoresponders is set up on my domain.
Many email servers have a "SPAM" button, and I think that might be
why many domains get blacklisted. The ISP's don't have to go through the
hassle of filing a formal SPAM complaint, they just block the domain, or
automatically filter it to bulk mail.
It's turning into a whole new web, out there.

Hi Burnham,
I was told a while back by another marketer that it isn't a good idea to host your own autoresponder. He said that it is very likely that you can get spam complaints that you will find hard to defend against. You could be subject to lose your webhost if it gets to that point.
Just a point I was given and it in no way means that you have done anything wrong. That was just a suggestion I received from another internet marketer.
Peace to you and yours,

Re: spamYou need to understand it is not domains that get blocked by spam filters. It is IP addresses. If you use shared hosting and someone else with the same hosting company, sends thousands of emails from their own domain, it is likely whenever you send an email also it will get blocked.
Dedicated IP Addresses are better and try not to send too many emails from your own computer. this will get your home IP address blocked and emails you send to friends may also be returned.
I would recommend to everyone always to use double optin for any autoresponder you have. Be polite in the first email you send, always include their details you have, i.e. name, email, address, city, time stamp, IP Address etc. Ask them to confirm they want more information and be poilite. Always include your own home address and telephone number. Try to always send people to a capture page first, then they can optin themselves. This will improve the qulaity of sign ups you get.
The above is law and it will help you stop unnecessary spam complaints.
I do know of a great system that has autoresponders and capture pages. I will not place the link here, so if you want more info then contact me personally.

Hello Leon!
You don't run anymore risk running your own autoresponder than
the autoresponder companies do. If worried, you can set up a second domain for the autoresponder. But, the above-mentioned safeguards,
along with the right disclaimers and saving all info on the lead
SHOULD see you through, but hosts can still be unilateral in their decisions. Just a fact of Cyber-life.
Gary, I run several safelists, and they DO ban entire domains
(which are I.P. addresses, anyway.) I guess it just depends on
the numbers of users with SPAM complaints.

Thanks for that 9info Burnham. I may go ahead and set mine up now. I have one that I purchsed a few years ago sitting on my hard drive. If it works well, I may be able to offer it to other Plan4pOwer members so they don't have to pay for one. Of course, there are free autoresponders available online already.
Thanks again,

Re: spamYes Burnham you are right in that domains can get banned. Normally it is the URL or link in the emails that get banned. However, people like spamcop ban the complete IP Address relating to the URL.
Using good autoresponder companies will increase your rate of email delivery. The respectable ones work hard at keeping their IP Addresses off of the spam listings.
Also, if you register a domain with most registrars, they will close your domain if you are found guilty of spamming. It is a good idea to register domains with www.joker.com as they do not stop your domain if a spam complaint comes through.

Gary

Cool, Gary!
I didn't know there was anyone like that out there.
One advantage, at least at first, to having your autoresponder on your
own domain is that there is no history for the SPAM busting
companies to work from. Of course, you have the same spam
filters to get through.

Re Cloaking...Hi Gary,
My method may sound long winded but it works well.
1/. Create a subdomain on your main website, in my
case I called it... avonaromatics
2/. create a page in your subdomain and call it...
index.htm with no HTML in it at all. Just a completely
blank page.
3/. I them ceate a cloaked URL for my affiliate URL using
Affiliate Defender.
4/. Upload this cloaked URL into the blank index.htm
page, in the subdomain... avonaromatics.
Try clicking on the URL... http://avonaromatics.a2z247.net
The avonaromatics part of the URL is the subdomain and
the .a2z247.net part is the main domain.
Using this method... your affiliate status will never show
but your affiliate account will be credited with the visit.
I hope this helps,
Derek

In Response To BurnhamHi,
Some years ago I ran a site called... applied-emarketingnews.com
Hosted by ThirdSpherehosting, using ARP3 as my autoresponder
on my website.
Whilst your list is small, using shared hosting is fine, but as your
list grows, you will begin to run into problems.
On a shared server... your MySQL account will soon run out
of capacity... this will completely disrupt your cron jobs.
In the end, when broadcasting my newsletter to a list of
10,000 plus, I had to break it down to blocks of 2,500 at a time.
Even then at peak times I would get trouble, with low capacity
freezing the system and locking the cron job.
I think ARP3 is a superb program, but it's best used on a dedicated
sever, with lots of capacity. Having to go to this added expense,
makes a pro service like Aweber look very attractive.
Well that my 2 cents worth,
Derek
