Unsubscribe Links???How Do I Make My OwnDon't know who this would go to,
but if any one has an easy answer, I'm
a real dummy when it comes to this. Never done
it before.
All autoresponders I've used in the past
put an unsubscribe link in the bottom
of your ad for you.
I'm going to try out a new autoresponder
and this one requires you add your own
unsubscribe link.
I've searched, the technology is
running me in circles.
What to do what not to do,
can you get it for free, how
do I do it?
Help Someone, lol
STRIKE, I found with this new service
they do have the link, I just have to add
it with a click, lol..Wheeewww. thank goodness.
thought I'd leave the question though because
I'd still like to know how to get my own in
case I decide to purchase an autoresponder
to run from a server on my computer.
thanks

Hello Cathy!
The freebie autoresponder scripts, and not so freebie, that
I've run across all provide the option of an unsubscribe link. Just
gots to check the box in your admin.
What they don't come with is a "double-opt in" link for the initial
letter. Maybe the more expensive scripts have'em; haven't bought
one.
What I've done is set up the "thank you" page with another form.
For example, using Buildabiz, I let the Buildabiz site capture the email, and set up the "thank you" page with my autoresponder form. I explain
on that page that filling out this form constitutes "double opting." If I only get the Buildabiz form filled out, and not the autoresponder, I disregard
that lead.
Sort of a hassle, but a free workaround. I just went back to freeautobot
anyway, because my installed script took a powder for some reason.

Hi Burnham,
Freeautobot is okay for those who do manual uploads of each lead.
If a person has to upload as many as Cathy does, it would take days to get the leads into the autoresponder one at a time.
I have the Autoresponder Unlimited script on my hard drive and I tried to install it on my server. It doesn't install very easily. Do you have any suggestions for an autoresponder that anyone can use and upload a volume of leads all at one time?
I know there are a lot of paid to use services out there. I'm looking for one that everyone here can use that will only cost a one-time fee to have or even a free one with capabilities to upload many leads at once.
Thanks and Peace,

autorespnderI've been looking around too Leon and
Bill Hinkle sent me this info he said was
decent and could get hosting for $2.95 a
month.
I also looked at the free smtp, or
whatever, that's the stuff that's
over my head.
It's got a whammy cost up front,
but don't guess bad when you consider
monthly charges I pay on other
services. And I would know when
this ones on the blink.

If I could figure it out and get it set up
I might would go for it. I have the 30 day
free evaluation that I'm trying to figure
out, just don't have much time.
Would like other feed back on what they think of
this one.

Cathy,
I am a bit leary of using an autoresponder that resides on my home PC. You would be taking a chance of having your ISP close your account.
The first thing I would do is contact my ISP and let them know what I was planning to do and with how much frequency I would be doing it. They can let you know what they think and you can make a better decision on how far to go with it.
If I did get the go ahead from the ISP, I would be forced to buy the Pro version because I would want the automatic unsubscribe feature and the information that can be provided when a subscriber has opted in.
Just be careful of what you buy into. Take the steps to check everything out because you don't have that many choices of ISPs as I understand it.

hosting serviceYou just use a hosting service
don't you?
This one was recommended to
me for $2.95 a month.
I am totally new at this but trying to
learn because I have so many leads that
I am trying to expand.
What can you tell me about this?
http://www.adresultsweb.com/
I just found an autoresponder that
I have paid for today, going to try it out
and probably use msn hosting, thinking
about that option anyway.
Still looking at everything.

Cathy,
If you are planning to host several webpages and splashpages that should be fine. The webhost has a cgi-bin so you should be able to host an autoresponder there too. Most autoresponders require that the host operate on Linux servers. I did not see what kind of servers were at that host.
There is a host somewhere online that is being offered for a one-time lifetime fee of $127. When it is time for my renewal at my webhost, I am going to go that route I think. My year will be up in March so I plan to swap over then... and never have to pay again!
Bear in mind that you will use about 110 bytes per lead if they provide full name, address, email address, phone number, date and time of optin, and the IP address.
50,000 leads will use about 5 MB of space so be governed accordingly with the available storage space they offer.
Good Luck with it!

Over my headThat is all over my head, lol
I'm checking into having someone set this up
for me, easy way out.
Found this one today Leon if you want to look,
it also has a trial version.
Alot cheaper than the other but I guess
you get what you pay for...your feed back please.
I've asked John Harvey to set this up for me,
awaiting his reply with cost...Ouch.

Hi Cathy,
That is the script I have. It is not that easy to set up and you have made a wise decision to ask for somebody to install it for you. However, I would say you'll be on your own with it. I haven't seen anybody that would do that for me yet.
Mine is the older version though and this one may be easier to set up.
I liked it when I got it and I think I offered to give away copies of it but you must have not seen my offer... or was that an "I think I can give away" thing that I said?
Oh well... you have it now and it should do all you need to do. Just remember what I said about your storage space. You can use up a lot of space adding names to your autoresponder without realizing it.
Peace,

hey leonMy autoresponder that I have monthly I load
20,000 a day so I need this one for all my ffa
leads that I get from all over the place and the
2000 reihax leads that I get. I hate them just
going to waste so I got to find bigger plus
all autoresponders have server problems from
time to time. I know trafficwave got to where I
could only load 1000 a day because of reports
taking to long to get back, with this one I have
now I upload the 20k at one time and I'm finished
but when it's down I need something still running
and vice versa.
Time Is Building, or so the say should
be time is money, but in my case, time is building
that leads to the money...
Let's make some money so I can
quit having so many tax deductions and
have to pay alot more in taxes....won't that
be fun. I pay enough as it is...
I know this is spos to be free but I do
like the tax write offs so my husband
has to bare with me, I'm really saving
him money, huh?
I'm being stupid tonight, just feeling my oats
again...
Rattling here in Bama...
thanks for your help and no I didn't see your
offer.

As it turns out, I read the info in the program and it is for personal use only according to the documentation, but I distinctly remember that I had resale rights to it too... hmmmm.
My wife says she is saving me money too by going to "sales". I tell her that she is going to "save" me right into the poor house!
Nite... have to get up in about 4 hours!
Peace,

Hello Cathy and Leon!
As to the http://www.xtreeme.com/followupxpert/ :
you can set it up to send from your desktop, as a server, so
you aren't using your ISP's mail client. That protects you from
your ISP thinking your bulk emailing, but not from losing your
Internet Service Provider due to SPAM complaints.
I don't think contacting your ISP is a good idea because they
might cancel your account, just in case. And running that many emails
even from your Desktop, Cathy, will probably send up a bandwidth
flag.
You are better off hosting your own autoresponder. If you feel the urge
to bulk mail from your desktop, I'd recommend setting up a cheap
dial-up account that you won't mind losing.
